Объяснение
Отрицательные слова задают сферу. Nicht отрицает предложение или компонент, kein — существительное.
- nie = at no time
- niemals = emphatic never
- nirgends/nirgendwo = nowhere
- nirgendwohin = to nowhere
- niemand/keiner = no person
- nichts = nothing
- noch nicht = not yet
- noch nie = never so far
- noch kein = no ... yet
- nicht mehr = no longer
- kein ... mehr = no ... left
- keineswegs = by no means
- nicht alles = not everything
- double negation: niemand sagt nichts (nonstandard/positive logic)
Minimal pairs: Ich fahre noch / Ich fahre nicht mehr; Ich habe schon bezahlt / Ich habe noch nicht bezahlt; Ich habe noch Geld / Ich habe kein Geld mehr. German standard avoids double negation: Niemand sagt etwas or Alle sagen nichts, depending on meaning.
