Form unreal comparisons and unrealized consequences with als ob, als wenn, als, als dass, beinahe, and fast.

Last updated: July 11, 2026

## Unreal comparisons

**beinahe/fast + past subjunctive II** marks a consequence that almost happened: **Fast hätte ich den Zug verpasst.** Distinguish present/past and the different clause architectures.
