Deepen two-way prepositions for location, direction, and abstract, textual, and graphic contexts.

Last updated: July 12, 2026

## Case and perspective

**Wo?** marks a location and usually takes dative; **wohin?** marks a directed change and takes accusative. Movement itself is not decisive: **im Park laufen** stays within the place, while **in den Park laufen** crosses into it.

The same contrast applies to text and graphics: dative describes an existing position; accusative describes placement. Abstract verb-preposition combinations may be fixed and must be learned as units.

## Example map

The following German examples cover every rule tested in the exercises and the key contrasts.
